This exercise was NOTHING like anything else I have ever done in all my years of schooling. I had no idea something like this even existed. It is great to know that in the future there will be even more options for what we can do in our classrooms, including using voicethread. I really didn’t think I would like using it at first; it is kind of out of my comfort zone. I never really thought about how to read my stories out loud or how to put emotion into the words I was saying. This really stretched my creativity and my confidence. I feel proud of my story and the way I organized it in my voicethread. I think this would be really fun for elementary school students and middle school students. I know I hated presentations in front of the class, and this is an alternative. This way everyone still has to share and do a good job, but they might have more confidence reading it alone and being able to edit it and change it until it is perfect. These could be presented in class instead of a presentation. This could also be used for class campaigns for student government, introduce yourself projects, and so many other things. The possibilities are endless! This gives students a sense of ownership, pride, and creativity. Voicethread can really make a huge difference in my future classroom. Overall I enjoyed this more than I thought I would and I am actually proud of my voicethread and the story that I wrote. I hope that one day in my classroom, my students can feel the same sense of pride in their work.
